My client is seeking a dynamic Hotel Bar Manager who has a fresh approach to managing a hotel bar. The hotel is situated in one of Irelands most idyllic and historic locations. This is a very fast paced role which will require you to be a manager who drives 5 star excellence across all aspects of the role. Responsibilities and Duties Train, supervise, counsel and discipline bar staff for the efficient operation of the outlets. Organize and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings communicating pertinent information to the staff, such as house count and menu changes. Organize special events in the bars (such as receptions. Ensure food quality and service standards are met and give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency. Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering and retrieving supplies. Evaluate cost effectiveness of all aspects of operation. Develop and implement cost-saving and profit-enhancing measures. Ensure that all standards and hotel cash handling procedures are met. Maintain cleanliness of all outlets-bar, lounge, service areas, room service, floor landing for room service trays and outlet staff coolers. Solicit feedback from guests concerning food, beverages, service and improvement ideas. Ensure maintenance of equipment by calling for repairs and training staff on correct use. Conduct competitive research and report trends and recommendations. Support the entire Food & Beverage operation including managing other areas if necessary, handling special projects, running promotions, handling public relations and marketing. Ensure comprehensive and working knowledge of the Department’s Profit & Loss statement. Comply with and implement all Performance Excellence Initiatives as identified in Performance Excellence Plan. Ensure comprehensive knowledge of Departmental Customer Satisfaction Survey scores and communicate all scores to employees in the department. Be proactive in identifying and implementing initiatives to improve customer satisfaction scores. In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel. Minimum requirements Leaving Certificate or equivalent required. Hospitality Management Degree preferred but not essential. Minimum of two years of previous Bar Management experience and a total of four years experience in a 4 or 5 star Hotel. Must be able to multi task and be very detail orientated. Must have excellent knowledge of Computers. Must have previous experience of administration work and report writing. Preferred requirements Food handling certification.
