Description

Our client based in Donegal requires a Java Developer to join their expanding team. Role Responsibilities. Analyse, develop, test and deploy new and/or enhance existing application or system code within established processes. Enhance application system performance. Create technical documentation and test plans. Provide day to day application monitoring, reporting, and maintenance of software solutions. Perform daily production support task and resolve production issues. Analyse user requests to diagnose and resolve issues/queries associated with software solutions. Work independently within operationally defined SLAs. Build, maintain and strengthen relationship with stakeholders/business partners and keep them informed with appropriate business impact assessments. Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a global project environment. Essential Criteria. Third Level IT Degree or equivalent ideally with a Cobol/Mainframe Element. Solid development experience with Java/J2EE, Struts, EJB and Hibernate on Unix based environments. Solid development experience targeting Relational databases and SQL. Experience of using development IDEs such as Rational Application Developer (RAD) with Websphere Application Server (WAS. Solid development experience in solution design, coding, debugging, deployment and post deployment support. Solid experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for managing systems scope and release objectives. Must be able to make sound decisions based on analysis. Very good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce concise documentation. Must be flexible to work in shifts patterns/on call as per project requirements and on weekends. Experience of working within CMMI Quality and ITIL processes. Desirable Criteria. Experience of using JasperReports. Additional experience of Cobol/Mainframe Development. Production support experience. Manage/Coordinate Release Infrastructure Changes. Understand the various phases of the software development lifecycle. Experience of working within CMMI Quality and ITIL process. Experience within a large enterprise environment and/or data warehouse experience.
