Euroflex TEO are currently seeking an Operations Manager for a fast paced packaging manufacturing site. The successful candidate will manage all production and operations related matters from goods in through to goods out, including warehouse,maintenance and as listed below. Role Responsibilities: • To assist with the speedy resolution of operating problems. • To monitor and improve factory control systems and responsibility for manufacturing and logistics including the use of the New Streamlined ERP system in the production and relative departments. • To prepare and implement an annual production and capacity plan so that plant and personnel are in place to meet sales demand. • To plan production in conjunction with the production manager in a way that will maximise service levels, yields and efficiency with the minimum of waste while maintaining all food safety, quality and hygiene standards. • To liaise with other managers and to play a key role in planning and launching new products. This includes working closely with Product Development on the technical aspects of the products being launched. • To evaluate alternative methods and processes and, where appropriate, implement the most suitable improvements. • To plan the level of maintenance required for the consistent effective running of production equipment. • To understand the company’s budgeting and costing system and to play a key role in ensuring that margins are maintained. • To initiate cost reduction investigations in the appropriate areas and to be aware of all labour and other costs in the production and warehouse operations. • To manufacture products to specification, which includes liaising with QC in order to ensure that all technical and other quality standards are met. • To ensure that quality standards are seen by all staff as the starting platform for producing consistently high quality food products and that all products leaving the finished goods warehouse remain in the same condition. • To ensure that production and warehouse and maintenance areas are maintained at the highest level of hygiene compatible with the economics of the business. • To maintain operator and other personnel awareness of hygiene needs and both internal and external regulations. • To ensure that the production, warehouse and other areas are maintained in a condition that enables the company to pass customer audits as appropriate. • To ensure that the production facility provides the maximum safety and minimum health hazards for all staff and visitors. • To source and recruit staff in a cost effective manner that maximises the company’s output and promotes staff retention. • To be responsible for the development of all production personnel and to initiate training to maximise the skill base. • To ensure that all production staff are aware of their responsibilities, performance and objectives. • To undertake other work as may be required from time to time as wide ranging and challenging role in a growing company. Candidate Requirements: • Third Level Qualification – ideally within the manufacturing related process technology area. • Previous experience working at a senior level in manufacturing/food or packaging production, preferably in a med/large company environment. • Leadership ability, personal pride and confidence to motivate and manage others. • Good engineering knowledge to drive and help solve the inevitable machinery problems and sufficient process experience to learn new technologies. • The ability to contribute to the inner management team, the initiative to develop innovative solutions to problems and the determination to complete projects and implement change. • Strong commercial awareness and the judgment to find solutions to apparently conflicting problems.
