A leading farm organisation is currently recruiting for a Regional Development Manager to be based in the Donegal area. This is a full-time permanent role. Reporting to the head of the organisation you will be responsible for the following duties. To represent the organisation and its members in a professional manner at all times at a local and regional level. To coordinate and manage the day to day organisational affairs with your specified county. Ensure that the offices are managed professionally and staff admin duties are carried out in an efficient manner. Keep members informed of organisational policy / sectoral and local issues through the County Executive structure and organisational network. To act as point of contact and where necessary represent individual members with government agencies , Teagasc , Co Councils & Agribusiness. Manage all events within the region including member meetings , protests , lobbying , AGMS , delegations to government bodies. To provide regular feedback on member issues to the DOO (Director of Organisation), County Chairman and other officers. To provide an out of office service and be accessible to officers with publically available mobile phone number. To manage the membership function including the planning and execution of a membership development strategy, achieving membership targets, supporting member canvasses, hiring and management of membership recruitment staff and seek support of voluntary officers to support branch membership development. To manage and coordinate the income streams within region of responsibility including maintaining good relations with managers of all sectors, ensuring all (EIF) European Involvement Fund levy is paid on time and continuously maximising opportunities to improve collection efficiencies. To develop and maintain strong relations with relevant local and regional agri businesses, financial institutions, government agencies and other relevant partners of the organisation. To coordinate and support Officer involvement on all outside boards / bodies. To provide advice and support to County Chairmen and Officers on all commodity/ sectoral issues and matters of local / regional importance. To develop and maintain relations with local media to promote the activity of the Association and ensure maximum media coverage is achieved. To attend and advise at County Executives, County Officer and public meetings and ensure all are coordinated professionally. To ensure all officers of the Association are supported with relevant information and are properly briefed and advised before meetings / events. To coordinate leadership / media training among County Officers & Branches and other training initiatives as identified by the DOO. To ensure the rules and constitution are adhered to at county and branch level and to oversee all elections within the Association in the regions. To have a good working knowledge of all areas of agriculture. To support the Director of Organisation in the development of organisational strategy and provide advice and feedback on adding value to the member benefits & services programme. Candidate profile. A strong understanding of farming. Management experience a distinct advantage. Previous experience in a support or manageement level role an advantage.
