Our client is seeking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Fitter to work as part of their maintenance team. A minimum of two years experience is required for this position. Duties will include preventive maintenance on machinery & equipment as well as responding to emergency machine breakdowns. Knowledge of PLC’s is essential. Applicants must be able to show experience in this type of work. Duties & Responsibilities: To aid the maintenance department in the maintenance and repair of plant and equipment. Manage the planning & execution of al equipment maintenance routines on identified equipment within the value streams. Minimise downtime on equipment, through fast response & priority setting with area supervision. Liaise with production/Tool room to understand equipment down priorities & eliminate recurring issues. Capability to retrofit/upgrade existing equipment as part of quality and or cost improvement initiatives. Skills Required: Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronics is an essential part of the role plus 2 + years experience in similar role. Candidates must have good knowledge of the latest materials & techniques. Must also be able to work on their own initiative. The successful candidate will support manufacturing to reduce downtime, identify opportunities for continuous improvements and maintain company plant and equipment. Applicants must have a sound knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics. Ability to understand technical drawings & other diagrams. Accouracy with numbers-counting measuring & arithmetic. Ability to carry out small & detailed tasks. Good practical skills. Ability to show accuracy & attention to detail in work. Being physically active and ability to be on your feet all day. Ability to work as part of a team and also work independently. Good hand-eye coordination with an interest and an aptitude for engineering & practical work.
